Aquatic Therapy Pool Rescue Award
The ATPRA is a supervision and rescue award for Aquatic Therapists and support workers working during programmed activities. It is suitable for those working in a range of swimming pools, including where the water is deeper than your standing depth.
What will you cover?
Topics covered during the course include
- Module 1 – The Therapist, Risk Assessment and Pool Safety
- Module 2 – Intervention, Rescue and Emergency Action
- Module 3 – CPR & First Aid
An Emergency First Aid at Work and AED certificate can also be integrated into this course. Please get in touch to discuss your options.
Assessment & Certificate
To achieve the ATPRA certificate, candidates must pass a formal assessment at the end of the course, where trainees demonstrate the skills and knowledge learned in the form of a theory and practical assessment.
Qualification Renewal
The qualification is valid for two years from the date of assessment and holders must renew their qualification within its period of validity. Before renewing the qualification your trainer should consider you prepared and ready for the assessment, which is achieved by attending the full course again. You will then be assessed in the same way as the initial assessment.
